A long, long day to get to Heathrow

We left Mum & Dad's at 8am whilst the kids were still in bed, and went back to our house to begin the cleaning and tidying. We were also waiting for Rob's car to be collected by the lease company, the dog to be picked up by the pet relocation people (http://taff-to-texas.blogspot.com/2014/08/bess-is-on-her-way.html) and the the last of the electrical goods to be collected by their buyers. We were busy non-stop all day. Mum and Dad brought the kids over at 3pm and got stuck in doing jobs. Dad spent a lot of time with his head under the utility room sink when we couldn't stop the pipes leaking after we'd detached the washing machine. Mum had a cloth in her hand as usual, pretty impressive for someone who is going in to hospital for a hip replacement tomorrow. Then we had to try and get the remainder of our things into our luggage, moving things around to stop cases going over the weight limit. At 5:30pm we were finally ready to go. We said our tearful goodbyes to Mum and Dad and had a final look around the house, which had scrubbed up pretty well in the end. When we drove off our neighbours in our cul-de-sac came out and waved us off, then as we turned to go out of The Meadows we had a final fantastic send off and said the last of our goodbyes.
One of the goodbyes I had been dreading,
they have been best buddies since they were 3 years old.
The send off. :)
Bye!
Missing you already!
Finally, relaxing in the lovely Sofitel at Terminal 5 London Heathrow.
