The final day of packing was exhausting. The packing guys were on full steam ahead, although they didn't turn up until 11am. The shipping container arrived at midday and it was enormous, but by the end of the day we had managed to fill it. We ran over the packing up time slot and and it was 5:15pm before the container left, then the guys had to pack our air freight in to the back of their van and collect their rubbish and unused packaging materials. It was nearly 6pm before they left, three hours later than they had anticipated.

We locked up the house and headed over to my parents house for the night, leaving it in a complete mess. I am dreading going back tomorrow to
clean it, but we have to leave it spotless as the house will be open for
viewings once we have gone. Sigh.
And relax. On to an enjoyable meal out at the "Beefeater" (a favourite among the kids) with my Mum, Dad & Nan. Today was my Nan's 92nd birthday, and it was sad to say goodbye to her at the end of the night as we really don't know if we will see her again. Sadder still that the significance of it on her seemed to be lost as she has dementia. Still, we had a lovely evening with the family and Simon & Louise, my parents next-door neighbours and good friends, finishing off some champagne and whiskey we can't take with us.
